WTC Points Table: India Overtakes England in Championship Standings After Dramatic Win at the Oval

The World Test Championship table had a shake-up after India’s thrilling victory at the Oval to level the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 by defeating England by the barest of margins, 6 runs. India jumped to 3rd spot on the WTC table after an emphatic win, edging England by 2 points.

Former one-time champion Australia leads the table after a 3-0 clean sweep over the West Indies in the Test series. Their dominant win earned them first place with 36 points, followed by Sri Lanka, which won 1 match and drew one, gaining 28 points ahead of their upcoming home series against Bangladesh.

India Rise to 3rd in WTC Standings as England Slip to 4th After Slow Over-Rate Penalty

India’s leveling the series with England earned them 3rd spot in the WTC table with 2 wins, 2 losses, and 28 points. Meanwhile, England trails in 4th place with the same record but only 26 points, as they were penalized two points for a slow over-rate in the 4th Test.

India's two Test wins in the England tour are a massive boost to their chances of qualifying for the 2027 World Test Championship final.
