The warm-up match between India A and India is said to be a closed-door affair, barring media and broadcasters from the Kent Cricket Club.
India's main team will face India A in a 4-day warm-up match happening now (June 13–16) at the Kent Cricket Club. The match will not be televised or streamed on any platform. India vs India A: Closed-Door Match, No Broadcast
The BCCI has barred media and broadcasters from accessing the venue to keep the match private. The board has stated that a member of India’s coaching support staff will be available to answer questions at the end of the match.
This closed-door warm-up match was teased before the official announcement of the England tour. The decision came after the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, where India’s practice sessions were overwhelmed by crowds and attention. Coach Gautam Gambhir felt that the crowd interference had become a distraction during practice.
Now, the BCCI and Gautam Gambhir want this match to be a closed-door affair to finalize strategy and team line-ups.
“June 13–16: Closed intra-squad game. No vision access to Media/Broadcast. On the final day of the squad game, a player/member of support staff will be made available to the media,” the BCCI said in a statement’.
