Mumbai Indians began their campaign against Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk, where CSK triumphed over MI by 4 wickets, marking a strong start to their campaign. Unfortunately, the subsequent matches have yielded mixed results for the franchise, leading to inconsistency among the record title winners.
Currently, both teams are back on track with recent victories and will look to maintain their momentum in the upcoming fixture. The Chennai Super Kings have had the upper hand recently, defeating the Mumbai Indians in 4 out of the last 5 matches.
Meanwhile, MI captain Hardik Pandya anticipates a packed house for Sunday’s match and is looking forward to an exciting game against the Chennai Super Kings. He emphasized the importance of getting some rest before the big match.
"It's going to be a packed house. I am sure it will be a great game. We’re just making sure we rest well for a couple of days, and then we see them again on Sunday," Hardik said after the match.
Hardik Pandya also praised his bowling lineup, led by Jasprit Bumrah, for restricting Sunrisers Hyderabad to an under-par total at Wankhede Stadium. He noted that their bowling was precise and effective against SRH.
"The way we bowled today was very smart and spot on. We stuck to our basic plans and realized that certain deliveries are not easy to hit. That was the game where we kind of squeezed it," Hardik stated.
