IPL 2025 Purple Cap Winner: Prasidh Krishna finishes as leading wicket-taker, check out entire list

Purple Cap

Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) season has come to an end. This season, the T20 league witnessed a lot of ups and downs. Right from the league getting suspended due to cross-border tension between India & Pakistan to some unexpected results, to RCB finally winning the maiden trophy after 18 years, the 18th season has seen it all. This year's Purple Cap holder list also features a lot of new names.

While a lot of people expected the list to feature prominent names like Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Jasprit Bumrah to feature in the list, players such as Prasidh Krishna, Noor Ahmad have made it to the list for the first time in the Purple Cap holder list. However, both the players, Prasidh GT, and Ahmad (CSK) did not feature in the finals of the IPL 2025 season. GT was out in the eliminator, and CSK did not make the playoffs.

IPL 2025 Purple Cap Top Five Players

Prasidh Krishna - 25 Wickets

Prasidh Krishna turned out to be the surprise package in the GT bowling lineup, which was not devoid of superstars. With Kagiso Rabada missing the majority of matches due to a temporary ban for drugs, the Indian pacer stepped up and led the GT attack with aplomb. GT skipper Shubman Gill used him whenever he needed wickets, and he responded the majority of the time.

Noor Ahmad - 24 Wickets

CSK outbid GT and bought the Afghan mystery spinner Noor for INR 10 Crores in the IPL mega auction. In a lineup where Ravi Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja were present, it was the Afghan spinner who completely overshadowed the Indian spin duos. Ahmad picked up three wickets in his very first game of the IPL 2025 season against MI, and there was no looking back. In an otherwise dismal campaign for CSK, Noor stood tall by taking 24 wickets.

Trent Boult - 22 Wickets

It was a happy homecoming for Trent Boult. The veteran pacer, who was back with MI after five years was easily the pick of the MI bowlers. With Jasprit Bumrah missing the first half of the IPL 2025 season, Boult spearheaded the attack by taking wickets in the power play and was equally effective in the death overs.

Josh Hazlewood - 21 Wickets

RCB's biggest player in the mega auction was Josh Hazlewood. They bought him for INR 12.5 Crores, and the Aussie proved why he was worth each penny. The 35-year-old was deadly in the power play and also proved to be good in the fag end of the innings. What was impressive about Hazlewood was that his economy rate was under seven runs per over.

Sai Kishore - 19 Wickets

Another GT bowler, who impressed with his smart variations and accuracy. Kishore came into the IPL with not much reputation as he did not get much chances in CSK and the initial first season with GT. However, this season, skipper Gill trusted Kishore in the middle overs, and he always delivered with wickets. His economy rate of under six runs per over was also one of the best for the spinners.
