Shreyas Iyer SRH vs PBKS

Punjab Kings (PBKS) skipper Shreyas Iyer (82) continued his rich vein of form against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in match 27 of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) stadium at Uppal Stadium in Hyderabad. Iyer's blazing knock enabled PBKS to post a mammoth score of 245 runs against a patchy-looking SRH bowling attack. The PBKS skipper's knock was a record-breaking one as well as brought up his 50 off just 22 balls - his fastest T20 5o.

However, the foundation of PBKS batter's fiery knock was set up by the team's openers Priyansh Arya (36), and Prabhsimran Singh (42). The duo put on a 66-run stand for the first wicket, which came off just 24 balls. Arya continued from he left off against CSK, and attacked from word go. He pounced on anything short by Mohammed Shami and Pat Cummins in power play and scored boundaries at will.

Prabhsimran supported the youngster from the other end by playing a positive brand of cricket. The openers assault put the pressure on SRH bowlers from which they could not recover. Despite both batters being dismissed in the space of a few balls, Iyer did not let the momentum slip. He kept on attacking Shami, Cummins, Malinga, and Harshal Patel. There was also a slice of luck along the way as he was dropped on 42 by Abhishek Sharma off the bowling of Zeeshan Ansari.
