The Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) season was memorable for various reasons. For starters, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) broke their 18-year jinx to win their maiden IPL trophy by beating Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the final match on June 03. Naturally, with RCB, there is a lot of fandom attached as it is one of the most followed franchises in IPL's rich history. With palpable excitement, viewers were glued to the TV screens and mobile apps, delivering a cumulative watch time of over 840 billion minutes - the highest-ever recorded match.
JioStar, the only exclusive broadcast and streaming partner, was masterful in running IPL 2025 campaign such as 'Generation Bold and 'Generation Gold.' MS Dhoni was the brand ambassador for the latter, while Royal's Vaibhav Suryavanshi was the ambassador for the former. Records were shattered as there was a huge surge in viewership heavily seen in digital consumption via JioHotstar, which recorded 23.1 billion views and 384.6 billion minutes of watch-time, a significant increase of 29% increase year-on-year.
