Indian bowlers are the talk of the town after their batters pulled off a special draw to keep the ongoing five-match Test series afloat against England. After being 0/2 and trailing by over 350 runs, the visitors' batters, led by skipper Shubman Gill, fought valiantly in Manchester. However, the bowlers, who conceded a huge 669 runs, are under the pump. Virat Kohli's brother Vikas took a sly dig at the bowlers led by Jasprit Bumrah after the batters won all the plaudits.

Ever since Kohli took the leadership mantle in 2015, the bowling has looked altogether different, with the majority of times the bowlers winning the game by taking 20 wickets. However, in the Manchester Test, despite India boasting of the quality of Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Ravindra Jadeja, Sundar, and Kamboj, they struggled to take wickets regularly. Kohli's brother Vikas pointed out the fact and was disappointed with the bowling group.

"Not long ago. We had a Test team, where our bowlers used to take 20 wickets," he wrote on Threads, probably referring to the Indian team under Virat Kohli's captaincy.

For the unversed, Indian batters scored a fighting first innings total of 358, before the bowlers squandered all the gained momentum by conceding five runs per over to the English opening duo of Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett. That terrific start gave the hosts momentum from which they did not look back.

Indian bowlers in focus as the visitors aim to level the series

The visiting batters have shown impeccable performance right through four Tests. Consistently, the batters have posted scores above 350. Now, it is all up to the bowling group to step up with ball in hand in the final and fifth Test to help the team level the series. It remains to be seen if India's pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah will play the final Test. As per head coach Gautam Gambhir, the fast bowler was only set to play three Tests, which he played in the first, third, and fourth Tests.
