Ravi Shastri went full on praising Shubman Gill for his knocks in the second Test at Edgbaston. The Indian skipper who scored a century in the first Test bettered himself by scoring a double century and a century in the second Test.
Gill scored 269 runs in the first innings and followed it up by scoring 161 runs in the second. Overall, he scored 430 runs in the Test match, which makes him the batter with the most runs for India in a Test match, overtaking Virat Kohli.
Gill is also second on the list with the most runs in a Test match just behind Graham Gooch's 490 runs against India back in 1991. The Indian skipper has already scored 585 runs in the series in just the first two Tests.

10 Out Of 10 - Ravi Shastri On Shubman Gill
Ravi Shastri while talking to former England captains Nasser Hussain and Michael Atherton at Sky Sports said that Gill batted like Bradman at Edgbaston.
"The best by a captain. 10 out of 10. I mean, you can't ask for anything more from a captain. You are 1-0 down in the series, you come out there and you bat like Bradman. 268 (269) and a 161 and you ended up winning the game" Shastri said in a Sky Sports podcast.
The former Indian head coach further went on to praise Shubman Gill's captaincy in the second Test. He said that Gill was a reactive captain in the first Test while he was very proactive in the second.
"Your captaincy was very reactive in the first Test. You followed the ball. But you were very proactive in the next game. You might have just unearthed the best seamer for English conditions in this Indian line-up by picking Akash Deep, who will trouble England as this series progresses," Shastri added.

While Gill was India's hero with the bat, Akash Deep and Mohammed Siraj were India's heroes with the ball. The Bengal pacer took 10 wickets in the match including a six-fer in the second innings. Siraj took a six-fer in the first innings in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah.
