Former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali has warned his team not to play against India in the upcoming Asia Cup 2025. This suggestion comes on the back of Pakistan’s loss to West Indies recently in the ODI series.
Pakistan were leading the series after winning the first ODI. However, they then lost two games on the trot to lose the ODI series. The likes of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan struggled to find form in the series.
Pakistan were bowled out for 92 runs in the third ODI in Tarouba, Trinidad, chasing 295 runs for victory. It was Pakistan’s fourth biggest loss in terms of runs in their ODI history. The win allowed the Windies to win their first ODI series against the Men in Green after 34 years.

Itni Buri Tarah Marenge Na Woh - Basit Ali On India-Pakistan Contest
With Pakistan scheduled to take on India in a high-voltage clash in the Asia Cup, Basit Ali fears that Pakistan’s loss will demoralise the entire nation and its fans.
“I pray India refuse to play against Pakistan in the Asia Cup, just like how they did at the World Championships of Legends. Itni buri tarah maarenge na vo, ki aapki soch hai (They will beat us so badly you can't even imagine),” Basit said on The Game Plan YouTube channel.
He further said that Pakistan fans will accept a defeat of their national team against Afghanistan, but a loss against India will hurt them more.
“If we lose to Afghanistan, no one would care much in this country. But everyone goes mad the moment you lose to India” he added.

Babar, Rizwan Likely To Be Dropped From Pakistan's Asia Cup Squad
The Asia Cup 2025 will be played in the T20I format and there are doubts over Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan’s selection in the Asia Cup, given that both of them were axed from the West Indies T20Is. The trend is expected to continue as per reports. If that happens, Pakistan will be without these two veterans in the tournament. Meanwhile, the Asia Cup will serve as a perfect preparation for teams ahead of next year’s T20 World Cup co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.
